Email countdown timer pricing and features compared: Alterable, Sendtric, MailTimers, MotionMail, NiftyImages
Comparing email countdown timer generators on price is trickier than it looks. Every vendor measures usage slightly differently, free plans come with different strings attached, and the feature that matters to you might sit on a different tier with each one.
This comparison covers pricing and features for Alterable, Sendtric, MailTimers, MotionMail, and NiftyImages, based on each vendor's published pricing in September 2026. Prices change, so confirm on their sites before you buy.
What you're really paying for
Every tool here renders a countdown as an image when the email is opened, and every one works with any email platform. So the timer itself isn't what you're comparing. You're comparing how much you can send, what's branded, which timer types are included, and what else comes with the account.
Alterable
Alterable's free plan includes 10,000 impressions a month with no watermark or branding, and no credit card. Unlike the timer-only tools, that allowance also covers dynamic images, dynamic product blocks, local store maps, surveys, and scratch cards. Every content type is on every plan.
Pro costs $49 a month (or $499 a year) for 500,000 impressions, and adds evergreen timers, A/B testing, unlimited rule-based versions, an API, an MCP server, and a Zapier integration. Scale is $199 a month for 2.5 million impressions with advanced analytics and dedicated support. Overage is billed at $1.00 per thousand on Pro and $0.80 on Scale, so nothing ever stops rendering.
Timers render as a still image of the exact time left, so they look identical in desktop Outlook, where animated GIF timers freeze on their first frame. Timers are localized in 22 languages on every plan.
Sendtric
Sendtric's free plan offers 10,000 views a month, with a watermark once you go over. Paid plans start at $8.25 a month billed annually for 150,000 views. Sendtric focuses on widgets: countdown timers, polls, and weather. Multi-language timers and the API are Enterprise features, so on lower tiers, timers can only be created and changed in the dashboard.
MailTimers
MailTimers advertises 100,000 free views a month. On the free plan, timers carry MailTimers branding, can run for a maximum of 30 days, and evergreen timers and custom fonts are premium only. Paid plans start at $9.95 a month ($7.99 billed annually). It's a timer-only product, and there's no published API, Zapier app, or MCP server.
MotionMail
MotionMail's free tier includes 20,000 views a month with branding on the timer. Branding is removed on paid plans, which start at $10 a month for 100,000 views. It makes countdown timers only, so any other dynamic content means another tool.
NiftyImages
NiftyImages is a broader image personalization platform, but it has no real free plan, only test images. Starter costs $59 a month ($47 billed annually) for 25,000 opens. Features are tiered steeply: scratchers and polls start on Growth at $149 a month, rule sets and A/B testing on Scale at $239 a month, and maps, the developer API, and the MCP server are Enterprise only.

Which features matter most
Branding on free plans
Three of these free tiers put the vendor's branding on your timer, either always or past a limit. Alterable is the one with no branding at any point on its free plan.
Rendering in Outlook
Animated GIF timers freeze on their first frame in classic desktop Outlook. Alterable's still-image timers look the same everywhere, which matters for B2B lists.
Automation
If you want to create or update timers from other systems, check where API access sits. Alterable includes an API, MCP server, and Zapier from Pro. Sendtric puts its API on Enterprise, and MailTimers doesn't list one.
Everything beyond the timer
This is the biggest difference. Sendtric, MailTimers, and MotionMail are built around timers and widgets. NiftyImages covers more ground but charges much more for it. Alterable includes countdown timers, dynamic images, dynamic products, local maps, surveys, and scratch cards on every plan, starting at free.
The verdict
If you only ever need a basic timer, several of these tools will do the job. If you want no branding, consistent rendering across every inbox, automation, and a platform that covers the rest of your dynamic email content, Alterable gives you the most for the money.
