The free personality test that powers PersonaBubble is an officially approved version of a personality questionnaire used by many psychologists for purposes such as hiring for jobs, career advice, research, and counselling.
In order to ensure we get the most accurate picture of your personality we have to ask more questions than other, less reliable, online tests or quizzes; anything less and your results chart and interpretations would be meaningless. Despite this, we have tried to make the free personality test as easy and quick to work through as we can and we’ve found most people can get through it in less than ten minutes.
When taking the free personality test we recommend that you answer as honestly as possible. Answer how you are, not how you think you should be. Although we call it a test, there are no right or wrong answers or outcomes, so you should just try to answer as naturally as possible without thinking too hard about it.
The questions in the free personality test are designed to measure the main aspects of normal personality, which means that we won’t say you are abnormal or mentally unwell, as the test is not set up to measure this. The questions have been specially designed to identify which personality traits you posses so that we can present these back to you in your personality report.
The personality report is summarised into five main areas of personality (called traits). The theory of traits is that there are permanent personality differences between people – for example that some people are warmer and friendlier than others and will be for their entire lifetime. These differences are traits: the typical thoughts, behaviours and emotions that an individual experiences. Although there are many words for describing behaviour and personality, many of these are explained by a smaller number of traits. Take for example ‘bubbly’, ‘fun’, ‘impulsive’, and excitable’ – all of these can be predicted from a single trait – which we call ‘liveliness.’
We find that five broad areas of personality, shown in your Persona Chart, and the fifteen detailed traits, explored in your report, will tell you most of what you need to know about a person’s character.
The five broad areas that PersonaBubble measures are:
Introverted vs. Extraverted: This trait is all about how you form and maintain relationships, how confident and lively you are in groups, and how much information you share about yourself.
Collaborative vs. Influential: This trait determines whether you want to take charge or just go along with what others would like. Whether or not you like to persuade others, and have confidence and discipline enough to see things through.
Tough-minded vs. Sensitive: This trait is about whether you value imagination, intuition and sensitivity; or whether you are someone who likes facts, logic and straight-to-the-point talk.
Flexible vs. Structured: This trait is a measure of how much you like to plan ahead, follow rules and structure your life. Or whether you prefer to leave things in your life to chance and just see what happens.
Stable vs. Reactive: This trait indicates how you cope with difficult and stressful situations. Whether you are reactive and fall to pieces or take things in your stride and soldier on.
