Do you love your job? If you do, great! You are in a relatively small group who can confidently say that they are truly engaged at work.
The connection between anxiety and satisfaction at work
If you have an anxious personality, you are more likely to be dissatisfied with your job, your relationships and your life in general. Conversely, if you have an emotionally stable character, you are much more likely to be satisfied with work and everything else.
We found this in our recent study, where 1,212 people completed our personality questionnaire (the 16PF) and several questions about their work engagement. We asked how satisfied they were at work, how often they thought of quitting and how much emotion they invest in their work. Countless other studies have found the same pattern, so the conclusions are clear.

The connection between your personality and your job
Your fit with the role and company affects your happiness at work. This seems obvious, but quite often professionals find themselves working in roles that just don’t feel quite right.
Unsure if you are a good fit with your current role and company? Taking a career aptitude test can help you diagnose the fit between your personality and the job you are currently in.
How to find greater happiness at work
To find greater happiness at work, first, figure out if the source of your dissatisfaction is really from the job or if it’s something you can improve upon within yourself.
If the reason is anxiety, your first step to being happier is to take your focus off the aspects of the job that get you down and think about how to improve your attitude toward your work. You might even consider speaking to a counsellor or doctor about your feelings of anxiety.
If the dissatisfaction is due to aspects of the job , including your fit with the company and role, try to change what you can within your existing role or prepare to make a career change to find a better fit.
Whether it’s a change or heart or a career change that would help you to become happier, we wish you every success in what you choose to do.
